Does a Derma Roller Work For Hair Loss?
Yes.
But it helps more only when you use it with any topical application product like minoxidil, onion juice...
How derma roller works
- A derma roller is a handheld device with many small surgical needles. These needles are attached to a wheel which, when rolled over the skin, cause microscopic wounds.
- The size of needle chosen will depend on how much hair remains on the head. This method of treatment requires shorter needles than when you are using microneedling for collagen treatments.
- If hair is sparse, such as in men who have lost their hair and have shaved the remainder off, use of 0.25mm to 1.0mm rollers are considered the best option.
- The microneedling procedure led to significantly greater hair regrowth than minoxidil alone.
- In the treatment of women with thinning of the hair but the hair on the remainder of the head is quite long, use of a dermastamp is preferable to a roller. This will prevent the hair from becoming caught and pulled within the roller.
Precautions
- Do not share it ( strictly avoided).
- Focus on one section of the scalp at a time, rolling horizontally, vertically, and diagonally 3-4 times.
- Replace your derma roller after 20 uses to avoid blunt needles.
- Apply 1ml of 5% minoxidil to the scalp twice daily.
